Mass March & Rally in Los Angeles
The March 21 Mass March and Rally in LA, which is coordinated with marches on the Pentagon and in San Francisco, will be the most important statement against the war this winter and spring. The new administration in Washington has endorsed more years of war and occupation in Iraq, has ordered the escalation of the war in Afghanistan and has fully backed Israel's ongoing war on the Palestinian people. The White House wants to increase Pentagon spending above Bush administration levels. Meanwhile, almost 700,000 people are losing their jobs each month in the U.S. On March 21, tell the White House and Congress that we won't stand for endless war and bank bailouts -- we need jobs, education, health care and housing instead. A new period of people's struggle is beginning!
Had enough? Well, we're still here. Join us at Hollywood and Vine, 12 noon, in Los Angeles on March 21. Thousands will gather for a rally with speakers and music and then march through the streets of LA. Here is a LONG list of Organizing and/or Transportation Centers. These Centers have March 21 flyers and posters. The Transportation Centers will help you get to the protest from where you live. You can also contact the ANSWER Office: 213-251-1025 or answerla@answerla.org.
Info: 213-251-1025, e-mail answerla@answerla.org or visit AnswerLA.org.

The Iraq Moratorium
Friday, March 20, is Iraq Moratorium Day. The Moratorium is every third Friday of the month, until ALL troops are home. Please do something, no matter how small, to show your opposition to this war. No one else will.
The Moratorium is a great idea, because everyone can get involved. You don't have to be a "protester." Just wear an arm band, talk to someone, make a couple of phone calls, put a sign in your window - be creative! Get the opposition back into the public eye!
More info about the Moratorium and local events is at www.iraqmoratorium.org.

The Arlington West Memorial
EVERY SUNDAY, in Santa Monica, on the beach just north of the Santa Monica Pier. Setup at 7:15 AM, removal at dusk.
Since Feb 15, 2004, Arlington West has gone from 540 crosses to well over a thousand, some of which are red to represent 10 dead American soldiers. There are also some stars and crescents, and a recognition that Iraqi dead would fill up the whole VERY large beach.
Volunteers are BADLY needed! This is becoming a gigantic effort! They are out there rain or shine EVERY week.
This very moving, nonpartisan memorial is put on by the Los Angeles Chapter of Veterans For Peace. VFP plans to do this every Sunday until the United States pulls the troops out of Iraq. Arlington West has become a very important part of this movement.
For more info, contact:

Friday Night Video Outreach is Back! (Every other Friday in Santa Monica)
The Coalition for World Peace video outreach team will be screening films outdoors at the Third Street Promenade between 8 and 10 PM.
Our exact location can't be guaranteed, but we usually set up between Santa Monica Boulevard and Broadway. If it's too crowded there, you'll find us on one of the other two blocks of the Promenade (between Santa Monica and Arizona, or Arizona and Wilshire).
If you can help out (which basically means just being there and talking to people), please join us. There's a lot of foot traffic on Friday nights and the more people we have, the more impact we'll have.
